Lonavala municipal council issued a notice to Bigg Boss Producers

After facing strong opposition from the Shiv Sena, reality show Bigg Boss has now courted trouble with the Lonavala municipal council that has issued a notice to the producers asking them to stop shooting in Lonavala immediately.

After receiving the notice on Thursday afternoon, Viacom 18 that telecasts the show moved the Bombay high court seeking a stay on the notice. The petition that was moved urgently just before the court could rise on 5pm on Thursday by Viacom 18’s advocate Ameet Naik has been listed for hearing on Friday.

The show, which is being hosted in its fourth season by actor Salman Khan, is being shot in a temporary structure built in an industrial shed.

The council has issued the notice to the producers saying that they have not sought the requisite permission for building the studio, spread over more than 2 acres. The organisers had not submitted the plans of the construction and even before the corporation could consider granting them the permission to shoot, they had already commenced their program and the show has been on air since October 3, according to the council.
